Expert Opinion
Block the number immediately if you suspect fraud. Identify the caller by checking the displayed ID and compare it against known scam lists. Never share social security numbers, bank details, or passwords with unsolicited callers—even if they claim to be from a government agency or a reputable company. Add the number to your phone’s built‑in block list or use a third‑party call‑filtering app, and register your line with the National Do Not Call Registry if you haven’t already. Report persistent or threatening calls to the FTC and your phone carrier; they can investigate and potentially shut down the source. Stay skeptical and protect your personal data.
