Tech Support Scam Calls – How to Protect Your Devices!

After answering several calls, the person on the other end claimed to be from Yahoo support and told me my email was being used for explicit content; they guided me through a process on my computer before I hung up, and now I'm worried about potential security risks

A woman claiming to be Alvina Johnson from Frontier.com's security team stated that my password needed to be changed, but i was busy with the IRS and told her i'd deal with it later, aparently she gave me another number to contact her, which i wont, obviosly

This appears to be an Indian-based scam, attempting to deceive individuals into downloading malware by using the 'window' and 'r' key as a shortcut to access the RUN command, ultimately allowing them to control and steal data.

Apparently, this person contacted me twice, claiming someone from abroad had acess to my computer, but they failed to provide the company name, they were suppost to be the "Network and Security Team"

A robocall was made, followed by a text from a different number claiming I had a pending funds application

Similar to other calls, the caller threatened me with repeated calls after I accused them of being a scam, and when asked about their location, they claimed to be calling from SFO, but I suspected they were actually calling from the Philippines

While driving, I missed a phone call from this number, when I arived home, I returned the call and a girl claimed to be from Microsoft, warning me that my account was about to be closed, she provided a lengthy account ID #, at least 30 digets long, then asked me to access my computer, which I refused, insted I've decidied to investigate this phone number 503 616 7242 and ended up here

The caller alleged to be from Google Service, claiming my husband's Google account and emails had been hacked by individuals in Russia for illicit purposes, and they threatened to shut down the account if we didn't comply with their instructions to repair our network.

They pretend to be from YAHOO and say my email is compromised, they want to access my computer, whats the point of this BS

Apparently, they attempted to deceive me into beleeving my network was compromised and required software to protect others from acessing my info

After demanding computer access, the callers expressed displeasure over certain comments and proceeded to make frequent calls, prompting the use of a junk fax blocker to block the number, as it is suspected that they are involved in a terrorist funding scheme through ransomware.
