Legal extortion scam callers – how to protect yourself!

Obviously, a scammer with an Arabian accent claims his name is "Thomas Johnson", wich is pretty ridiculous, he says i'm being sued and need to give him my informations and money before i can get any informations about the lawsuit, so i hang up the phone, then i go online and search the number and found out it's a scam, shortly after that the same number calls me again, i answer the phone with a rude tone and told them i know they are scammer and alot of people have catch on, anyone who recieve these call should report them so other peoples can be aware, good luck to everybodys.

I was bombarded with calls and voicemails from this number, including a threat of arrest at my workplace, which prompted me to report the incident to my local police department

Numerous calls from this number and an 891 number have been received, supposedly from a Daniel Parker, threatening arrest if a certain amount is not paid, claiming to be from Barry and German law services, which appears to be nonexistent

Upon recieving this call, a man identifing himself as Matthew Taylor informed me that a lawsuit has been filed against me and that i need to settle before the court date, thank you to everyone who posted about this same call

To combat extortion scams, it's essential to file reports with the relevant authorities, including the FBI and Federal Trade Commission

A similar call was received earlier from 504-273-7408, causing distress, especially since personal information, including a social security number, was mentioned, highlighting the need for action against such scams.

Tonight at 8:20 pm, I recived a call from this number, they claimes a lawsuit was filed in my name but couldnt provide any detalis unless I paid them money and gave them my ssn, which I knew was a scam and the person on the phone became very hateful.

After overloading their VoIP protocol, I became a nuisance to them and discovered they are fake; if provoked sufficiently, they cease calling

Evidence points to this being a scam originating from India, utilizing VOIP services to mimic the appearance of legitimate US-based companies, with the intention of extorting money; it is crucial to recognize that these calls are not genuine and to take necessary measures to protect one's personal information, including reporting such incidents to the FTC

Michelle Davis contacted me, stating that she needed to speak with me or my attorney on record, warning that if neither of us responded, she could only wish me luck regarding the impending consequences. It is clear that this is a fraudulent attempt and caution should be exercised when encountering such calls.
