Globelend texts asking ‘Is this you?’ – should you answer?

Expert Opinion
Imagine getting a random text that simply says, “Mike?” and nothing else. That’s the exact trick this number is using—sending single‑name verification messages to see if a real person answers. The pattern shows a fake “Globelend” brand attached to the outreach, a classic spam technique to harvest a valid phone number and later target the contact with phishing or robocalls. Because the messages contain no legitimate business purpose, treat them as scam. Always ignore such prompts, never reply, and block the sender immediately. Report the number to your carrier and consider a third‑party spam filter to keep future attempts at bay.
