NY FOP donation scam – stop the calls!

Expert Opinion
Strangely enough, the same 646‑558‑5576 digits keep surfacing as a fake donation request from an organization that pretends to be the New York State Fraternal Order of Police. Callers usually hang up after a brief greeting, ask for the “lady of the house,” or claim they need contributions for police‑related causes. Most reports label the call as a scam and a telemarketing ploy. Block the number through your carrier, add it to the National Do Not Call Registry, and never share personal or payment information. If a call feels pressuring, hang up and report it to the FTC or local consumer‑protection agency.
