Expert Opinion
Ever wonder why a single number can masquerade as the Fraternal Order of Police one minute and a Social Security Agency the next? The pattern suggests caller ID spoofing backed by scripted scams that aim to harvest personal data. Block the number on your handset and register it with the national Do Not Call Registry. Report each incident to the FTC and to your wireless carrier’s spam‑filtering service. Never share your full name, address, or SSN with unsolicited callers, even if they sound official. Consider using a reputable call‑screening app and regularly review your credit reports for unauthorized activity.
