John King scam call—how to protect yourself!

Expert Opinion
Imagine your phone lights up and a voice claims to be John King from a law firm, demanding payment on a payday loan you never signed up for. This is a classic impersonation scam that mixes debt‑collection pressure with false legal authority. Never give personal or banking details, and don’t agree to any payment on the spot. Hang up, block the number, and report the call to the FTC and your state’s consumer protection agency. If you think a legitimate creditor is trying to reach you, contact them directly using a verified phone number. Stay skeptical and keep records of suspicious calls.
