CBV Collections calls nonstop – how to stop them!

Expert Opinion
Imagine receiving a call from an unknown number that claims you owe money you don’t recognize. The voice sounds like a collection agency, but no details are given and the pressure is high. First, don’t share personal information and let the call go to voicemail. Ask for a written validation of the debt within 30 days; legitimate collectors must provide it. Keep a log of dates, times, and any caller ID details, then report the number to your provincial consumer protection agency or the FTC. Use your phone’s built‑in block feature or a third‑party app to stop repeat calls. Remember, your privacy is a right, not a negotiation point.
