Expert Opinion
Block the number if you keep receiving unsolicited calls. When a charity like Diabetes Canada calls unexpectedly, ask for a written request or official website link before sharing any personal or financial details. Verify the organization’s legitimacy by checking its official phone directory or contacting its main office directly. Use your phone’s built‑in call‑blocking feature or a reputable third‑party app to stop repeat calls that ring from early morning to evening. Report persistent harassment to the Federal Trade Commission or your local consumer protection agency. Remember, legitimate nonprofits will never pressure you to donate on the spot without proper documentation.
