Debt Recovery Scam Calls? How to Stop Them!

Expert Opinion
Imagine your phone lights up with a recorded message about an unpaid debt you never heard of. That front‑line encounter is often a voicemail from a bogus debt‑recovery operation that hopes you’ll panic and hand over personal data. First, never confirm any details or provide payment information until you’ve independently verified the creditor through official channels. Use built‑in call‑blocking tools or third‑party apps to silence the number, and flag the call to the FTC and your carrier. Regularly review credit reports for unknown accounts, and consider a spam‑filtering service to keep similar scams at bay.
