I received a call providing a Telegram activation code, which a female voice delivered, allowing me to set up Telegram successfully.
The automated voice, presumably a female, provided me with a code for Telegram, which i was able to use to activate my account, so it seems legitemate

Obviously a scam, recieved call at 1:30 am with a follow up msg containing a telegram code, it was quite anoying and distubed my sleep pattens
A suspicious call was made to me at 1:30 in the morning, followed by a message with a Telegram code, which is clearly a scam. I did not respond, but it disrupted my sleep and was quite unpleasant.
