After recieving no message from this number, I returned the call, and the voicemail indicated they are conducting a campaign for a unnamed non-profit, I beleive it may be related to the BCSPCA, as I've recived multiple calls after purchacing SPCA 50/50 tickets, and I find these calls to be unwelcome!

Expert Opinion
Picture this: your phone lights up with +1‑778‑724‑4280, you hear a few seconds of static or a silent voicemail, and later you learn the caller claimed to be the SPCA asking for donations. These calls often sound legitimate but rarely provide verifiable details, and many recipients report being asked for banking info. The safest play is to never share personal or financial data, hang up if the pitch feels vague, and block the number through your carrier or phone settings. If you truly want to support the SPCA, visit their official website or call a verified number listed on their materials. Keep a log of repeated calls and report suspicious patterns to your local consumer‑protection agency.
