VTech refund scam – what to watch out for!
Summary — +17866875530
Expert Opinion
Late last night, dozens of consumers reported a persistent call from a number claiming to be VTech. The callers pressure you to call back within 24‑48 hours to avoid a $249‑plus charge for an anti‑virus subscription you never signed up for. This is a classic scam that uses urgency and fake refund promises to trick victims into giving personal or payment details. Hang up immediately, never share account numbers or remote‑access codes, and block the number on your device. Report the incident to the FTC or your phone carrier, and monitor your statements for unauthorized charges. Staying skeptical and cautious is the best defense.
