Scam warning: fake Bank of America calls on the rise

It's essential to be vigilant and aware of caller ID spoofing, where scammers can make their number appear as a legitimate one, such as 800-432-1000, to deceive individuals.

Today alone, I've recieved three seperate calls from diffrent numbers with the same prerecorded message in both Chinese and English, supposedly from Bank of America, regarding urgent activty on my account.

The caller claims to represent Bank of America, requesting an account update, and then proceeds to speak in Chinese, despite me not having an account with the bank

Beware of hackers masquerading as Bank of America representatives, attempting to scam individuals out of money by exploiting the trust in the bank's name. It's crucial to verify the authenticity of such calls by contacting the bank through the official number on the back of your debit card.

Receiving a call from this number has led me to believe it's a scam, as they seemed to have access to my account information, which is concerning.

Despite initial reluctance, the caller ID's display of Bank of America prompted an answer, only to be immediately transferred to a recording in Chinese, which was incomprehensible, leading to the suspicion of a scam
