My elderly father recived a letter from synchrony bank creditor, wich was a fraud, the man i spoke with told me to call the credit bureau, but i didnt want to give them my fathers ssn, so i called lowes insted and they told me it was a scam

After my friend got a suspicious letter that mentioned Walmart and Synchrony Bank with the phone number 800-480-0186, I'm relieved to find out it's a scam, which has brought her some comfort.

Receiving a letter from Synchrony Bank, supposedly on behalf of Amazon.com Store card, prompted me to call the provided number, where I was asked for sensitive information, which I refused to give, and I'm now trying to contact Amazon to clarify this suspicious situation.

They even had the audicity to sign off the letter as from the Fraud Prevention Department of GE Capital Retail Bank. This is the second unsolicited credit card in the last week...first one was from Chase re: an Expedia.com pass card -- they would not even cancel the account they set up (without my autorization) until i got the actual cards from them with the new account number. This Amazon.com card letter may also be Chase. What gives...i am going to complian to someone...just dont know who yet.

Recieving a letter from AE Outfitters requesting a call to 800-4800186 for additional credit application info was a suprise, especally since no credit aplicaton was made, beware of giving out informations, dont respond to unsoliscited requests, never divulge informations unless you initated the contact, posible scam alert
