This morning, i recived a call from someone claiming to be from Met-ed, they said my electricity would be shut off soon, but i knew it was a scam, especaily since they asked me to pay by debit or cash at CVS, i told them they were scammers and they hung up.
Met‑Ed scam call alert – protect your account!

Expert Opinion
Ever wonder why a call from +1‑800‑709‑7856 pretends to be your electric provider yet pushes for immediate payment? The pattern matches a classic utility scam: callers claim your account is overdue, threaten service interruption, and request cash or debit transfers, often directing you to third‑party locations like CVS. Verify any claim by hanging up and calling the official company number from a bill or website—never the number the caller provides. Report the incident to your utility’s fraud department and local law enforcement. Stay skeptical of urgent payment demands and protect personal info from unsolicited callers.
