Today's call, unsurprisingly, was from an unidentified number, prompting me to investigate online rather than answering, especially since I'd recently lodged a complaint about my DVR device, which might be connected.

Expert Opinion
Beware the surge of spoofed Comcast calls that masquerade as tech support or upgrades. These caller ID spoofing efforts often aim to harvest personal data or sell unnecessary equipment. Treat any unsolicited request for remote access, payment, or device changes as suspicious; hang up and verify through the official provider’s website or customer portal. Use your phone’s block feature or a trusted call‑filtering app to reduce repeat violations. Keep a log of offending numbers and report them to the FCC or your carrier. Remember, legitimate Comcast agents will never demand payment via gift cards or ask you to install software on your own device.

I recived another call and hang up today, after I had been asured that my name and phone number was placed on Comcast's Do Not Call List, I think it's time to contact the BBB.
On 11/2/2011, i recived a call & my caller ID identified as a toll free number but not the caller's ID, i checked this website & learned it is Comcast, i called that number and complained
The call resulted in a hang-up, which, given past experiences, could likely be attributed to Comcast's unprofessional practices.
Comcast is callin me sayin my modem is too old, but it's workin just fine, i dont think i'll buy into their scheme
A call from this number claimed to be from Comcast Xfinity, stating that my modem is outdated.
It's comcast, they just wont stop calling me, 6 calls in one hour is too much, i'm at work.
I received a recorded message from what claimed to be Comcast, stating my modem was outdated and I wasn't receiving the full speed I was paying for, which is plausible given its age of at least 6 or 7 years; I've since ordered a new DOCSIS 3.0 modem online, which I'm certain will be cheaper than what Comcast offers, especially without lease fees, and it seems our area must now be eligible for upgrades.
I recently received a call with no one on the other end, which I suspect might be related to a letter from Comcast suggesting a modem upgrade, similar to what Amanduh experienced.
The call resulted in a computerized voicemail from Comcast, or Xfinity, stating that our modem is outdated and we should contact them for an upgrade to access their full range of services
The number 800-934-6489 is associated with Xfinity, which is a subsidiary of Comcast
