Expert Opinion
People keep reporting that the number 831‑226‑1085 is linked to aggressive debt‑collection scams. Callers often claim outdated loans from 2012‑2015, use personal data like Social Security numbers, and threaten court action or wage garnishment to pressure payment. These tactics match classic scam patterns: urgent language, vague company identity, and refusal to provide written validation. If you receive a call or text, do not share personal information, ask for the caller’s written debt verification, and hang up. Block the number, report it to the FTC or your state consumer protection agency, and consider a credit freeze if your data appears compromised.
