It is clear that this is a scam, as my American Express accounts have been up to date for 25 years; it's recommended to contact AMEX Customer Service directly using the number on the back of the card.
In short, american express uses this number for debt collektion, and this site is usefull for provideing acurate informations, definalty not a scam
They claim to be american express and want me to call them back, the person on the phone sounded like they was from east india, they gave me a reference number and every thing

I experienced a similar incident, where a woman claiming to be Karen Fernandez from American Express contacted me, mentioning my brother's name, which I believe is a scamming tactic.

Collectors who are utterly usless tend to be bottom feeders, and as a rule I only anser the phone if I recognice the number and the person on the other end! Now they are blocked and I'm done.
It appears that American Express has outsourced their debt collection to a call center in India, which is why I've blocked the number.
Claimed to be American Express, but didnt say a word, cald back, recived a recoded message, then a man picked up, totaly clueless!
