Expert Opinion

Yesterday afternoon, a wave of automated calls claimed a security breach on your computer and demanded remote access. Never grant control to unsolicited callers, and avoid returning the call even if they provide a name or address. Verify any alleged software expiration by logging into the official vendor portal, not through a phone link. Use call‑blocking apps or your carrier’s spam filter to silence the number, and report the incident to the FTC and your state consumer protection agency. Keep records of the messages, and consider a credit freeze if financial details were mentioned.
