Debt Collector Threats? What to Do Now!

Expert Opinion
Looks like you're dealing with a classic debt‑collection scam. The callers repeatedly claim court complaints and pressure you to pay a supposed payday‑loan debt, but they refuse to provide written validation and use a fake law‑firm name. Hang up immediately, do not share banking details, and request a formal validation letter within 30 days as required by the FDCPA. Log the call, block the number, and report it to the FTC and your state’s consumer protection agency. If you suspect identity theft, place a fraud alert on your credit reports. Stay skeptical of any “private‑number” investigator who can’t prove the debt.
