CRG debt collector calls – what to do?
Summary — +18558765250
Expert Opinion
Ever wondered why calls from +18558765250 feel like a never‑ending chase? The number is linked to a group that repeatedly contacts people about alleged debts, often using confusing names like CRG, CRG & Associates, or Credit Recovery Group. These callers are subject to the FDCPA, so threatening jail or legal action is a red flag. Hang up, request a written validation of the debt, and log every interaction. Consider placing the number on your carrier’s block list or using a third‑party call‑blocking app. If harassment continues, file a complaint with the FTC or your state’s consumer protection office and keep copies of all correspondence.

Apparently, a scam operation has been set up in Arizona, with the phone number 520-518-4442 claiming to be located in Casa Grande. My experience was similar to others, but the scam was particularly egregious as it referenced a Discover card debt that does not exist. When I attempted to gather more information to send a certified letter, the woman I spoke to put me on hold, only to have the line hang up 10 minutes later. I intend to file complaints with the relevant consumer protection agencies. Despite the traumatic experience, I am reassured that it was a blatant scam, and I hope to prevent others from falling victim to such tactics.

A call from CRG and Assc, Miss Roberts, claimed I had an outstanding payday loan, but the call-back number reached a man's voicemail. They threatened tax inception, which is not a legitimate action. The loan details, including the amount and contact address, seemed fabricated.
A company claiming to be CRG and Associates contacted me, stating that I had an outstanding loan from 2009, which is false, and the Better Business Bureau has no record of their accreditation.
The situation might warrant a formal response, such as sending a certified cease and desist notice.
