An automated message from Windstream claimed our service was about to be disconnected, despite our ongoing efforts to resolve existing issues. Recently, our refurbished modem was replaced, and we were assured of no charges for the previous month. However, they now demand payment for a service that remains problematic.

Expert Opinion
Watch out for repeated calls that claim your account is past due and push auto‑pay changes. These messages often come from the provider’s collections or billing department, and the frequency can be overwhelming. First, let the call go to voicemail and verify the number against the official Windstream contact list on their website. If you’re already on a payment arrangement, confirm its status by logging into your online account or calling the main customer service line—not the caller‑ID number. Use your phone’s built‑in block feature or a third‑party app to silence persistent numbers. Keep records of all interactions and report abusive call patterns to the FCC if they continue.

Amused by your Windstream comment, I too have experinced numerous frustrating moments with them over the past 20 years, its become a sort of joke, whenever I say "Bring me my gun!!" everyody knows I'm dealing with them again, totaly rediculous.
Since no message was left, the identity of the caller remains unknown, and their inability to leave a message implies the call was not of great importance
Repeatedly dealing with Windstream has become frustrating, as they dial my number upwards of 8-10 times, prompting me to add them to my call block list.
The machine picked up the call while I was out, and the caller talked about auto pay, but didnt say who it was, thats just crap
I have a payment arrangement with Windstream, but they called me 6 times today, i answered the first 3 calls, and it was the same thing, my internet wasnt working, so i called them, and while i was on the phone with them, i recieved another call from them, this is crazy
Daily calls continue, despite payment arrangements being in place, potentially originating from Windstream, though the caller's identity remains unconfirmed, leading to intentional avoidance of the calls.
They called wanting to set up auto pay, but thats not going to happend
This number is apparently from windstream, collecting on a past due acount.
