Expert Opinion
Recent call logs reveal a flood of automated voicemails pretending to be Amazon fraud alerts, each citing a $1,200‑$1,300 charge on a default card. Callers use a generic toll‑free number and a robotic male voice, then urge victims to call back for “verification.” The pattern matches classic scam tactics: spoofed caller ID, urgent language, and a request for personal info. If you receive a similar message, hang up immediately, check your Amazon order history directly on the website or app, and contact your bank through the number on the back of your card. Report the number to the FTC and consider adding it to your phone’s block list to reduce future nuisances.
