Callers use a generic toll‑free number and a robotic male voice, then urge victims to call back for “verification.” The pattern matches classic scam tactics: spoofed caller ID, urgent language, and a request for personal info. If you receive a similar message, hang up immediately, check your Amazon order history directly on the website or app, and contact your bank through the number on the back of your card. Report the number to the FTC and consider adding it to your phone’s block list to reduce future nuisances.
Daily calls from this number, identified as Citibank on caller ID, have been flagged as a scam, and I no longer answer these calls.

I recieved a charge of 1000.00 dollars from Amazon.com, wich seems extreemly high.

Fortunately, I was cautious when they informed me of a supposed $1,279 charge on my credit card, and it's clear now that this was a fraudulent attempt.
Today, I received a call from someone claiming my account had been hacked to buy an iPhone in Ohio for $1279, but I recognized it as a scam.
The same call was received, but the caller was unavailable. A check of the default account revealed no suspicious activity, and had there been any issues, the account would have been contacted directly, rather than through this number.
