Amazon scam alert: fake purchase calls you must ignore!

The caller alleged to be from Amazon's Fraud Department and requested that I press 1 to proceed.

After receiving a call from 1-888-280-4331 claiming someone had ordered an iPhone on my Amazon account, I initially hung up but later became alarmed upon verifying the number as Amazon's, only to find online that it was a scam, which fortunately turned out to be false.

A message was left indicating suspicious activity on an Amazon account, including an unauthorized iPhone purchase attempt for $749

A suspicious call was received from 888-280-4331, claiming an iPhone 5 order was made, but this was clearly a scam attempt as there is no Amazon account associated with the number.

A voicemail was left with a computer-generated voice claiming an iPhone XR with 64 GB had been ordered for $749, which seemed suspiciously similar to a previous purchase

This call purported to be from Amazon, with an automated message claiming my account had been compromised by a fraudulent iPhone purchase, and I needed to press 1 to speak with a representative, which I wisely ignored. It's astonishing how much time scammers have on their hands.

The number (888) 280-4331 is known to be a scam call, also known as +18882804331, and is reported to be a Amazon Prime Scam

Apparently, recieved a scam robocall on 04-17-2020 at 12:30 PM from 888-280-4331, which is an amazin tactic to acquire personnal info. Due to the high volum of unwanted calls, I dont answer my phone nomore and let all calls go to voicemail. The robocaller claimd that I had ordered 64 gigabytes using my Amazon account, but Amazon adviced me it was a fraud.

An automated caller, allegedly from Amazon Customer Service, claimed my account was used for a $700 iPhone purchase and offered to transfer me to a representative, but the line went dead after pressing 1.

A call was received from someone claiming to be from Amazon, warning of suspicious activity on my account, but upon investigation, the claim was found to be false, and I advise against returning the call.

The caller claimed my account had been compromised and warned me not to open the app until the issue was resolved, which I found suspicious since the account isn't in my name and my phone number isn't associated with it.

This has been identified as a scam attempt

The intent behind this call was clearly deceitful.
