Collector that's a zombie
Debt collector harassment? Tips to block Midland calls!
Summary — +18884059988
Expert Opinion
Yesterday morning, a flurry of calls from the 188‑840‑59988 line was reported across several states, most of which identify the source as a debt‑collection outfit using the Midland Credit/Funding name. Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, recipients can request a cease‑and‑desist notice in writing, preferably via certified mail with return receipt. If the caller fails to honor that request, filing a complaint with the CFPB, state attorney general, or the Federal Trade Commission is advisable. Keep detailed logs of call times, numbers, and any voicemail content. Consider using a call‑blocking app that fully rejects unknown numbers, and consult a consumer‑rights attorney if the harassment continues.
