Microsoft refund scam alert – what to do!

Expert Opinion
Block the number immediately to stop future calls. Most recordings describe a pre‑recorded voice claiming a refund from a company that’s supposedly shutting down, often citing Microsoft support. The caller ID usually shows a generic “800 Service” or a toll‑free prefix, which is a classic sign of a scam. Never return the call or provide personal data; let the voicemail speak for itself and report the incident to the FTC and your phone carrier. Use your device’s built‑in spam filter, add the number to a block list, and regularly review your caller ID settings to catch spoofed sources. Stay vigilant and keep your financial details private.
