Debt collector scam calls – what to watch for!
Summary — +18887356104
Expert Opinion
Like a wolf in sheep’s clothing, a call from +1‑888‑735‑6104 often pretends to be a legal authority. Callers typically cite a bogus civil suit, a phantom debt, or a fake process‑server to create urgency and pressure you into handing over personal data. The safest move is to hang up, look up the alleged case through your local court’s website, and never confirm account numbers or Social Security details over the phone. Use call verification tools, add the number to a block list, and report the incident to the FTC or your state consumer protection agency. Remember, genuine agencies will never demand payment before you’ve verified their claim, and they won’t threaten immediate legal action without proper notice.

The fact that credit cards are property of the bank is often overlooked, plus a 20 year old debt shouldnt still be on your credit report, dont you think?
According to the caller, a civil case had been filed against me in my county, which later turned out to be a claim about a credit card from 2007 to 2018 that I had never owned. The caller also mentioned a judgement being put against me, and when I asked for the address where I supposedly applied for the card, they initially gave me my current address. After I requested to see my credit report, the caller claimed it had been removed, which I find suspicious given that I never owned a card from this bank. The question remains, why wait 20 years to pursue this matter?
