Expert Opinion
Hourly spikes in call volume reveal a persistent pattern: the same spoofed number repeatedly claims to be Kohl's credit or debt department, often demanding payment even when recipients have no balance. Callers usually hang up or provide no voicemail, using broken English and urging a quick “yes.” The safest response is to hang up immediately, avoid sharing personal or financial information, and block the number on your phone. Verify any Kohl's account through the official website or the number on the back of your card, and report the nuisance to the FTC and your carrier. Employing a call‑blocking app can also reduce future disturbances.
