Repeated spam calls are being received, displaying a lack of consideration
Is this a fraud? Identifying silent telemarketer rings

Expert Opinion
Beware of repeated silent calls that drop as soon as you answer – they’re a classic sign of a spoofed number used for phishing or scam scripts. Most victims report a nonstop pattern, often framed as a bogus student‑loan forgiveness offer, yet no one ever says a word. If you can’t verify the caller, let the call go to voicemail and review the message before responding. Add the number to your phone’s block list, report it to your carrier, and consider filing a complaint with the FTC’s Do‑Not‑Call registry. Stay alert, keep personal data offline, and never share financial details with unverified callers.

I believe I received a prank call from this number, claiming to be about student loans, which I don't have
Over the past three days, I've received five calls from a company claiming to be a student loan provider, despite my repeated assertions that I have no loans and hold two master's degrees from the 1970s. They continue to call, even after I've informed them I'm on the do-not-call list and asked to be removed. It's essential to be cautious, as this appears to be a scam, particularly since they're calling from a South Carolina number.
