Late last night, a number ending in 273 started popping up on several callers’ phones, delivering aggressive legal‑threat scripts that sound more like a scam than a legitimate notice. The callers claim to represent a county courier service and threaten paperwork or field agents unless personal details are confirmed. Victims report that the operator cannot verify addresses and often mixes debt‑collection language with bogus court actions. The safest move is to let the call go to voicemail, verify any alleged agency through official channels, and never share Social Security numbers or account info. Block the number and report it to your carrier or the FTC.

I received a similar call today, which included threats, but it was regarding someone I know who may have owed money, making the call seem legitimate at first. However, it is now clear that it was a scam attempting to gather information.
