My mother and I have received calls claiming I'm being sued, surprisingly using a married name from over a decade ago, and threatening to show up at my home and workplace, which I believe is a scam.
County courier services scam: how to protect yourself?
Summary — +19518235255
Expert Opinion
Block the number immediately if you suspect fraud. Callers using the +1‑951‑823‑5255 line are fabricating lawsuits and demanding payment, often citing banks like US Bank or Fifth Third. They exploit personal data such as Social Security numbers to add credibility. Hang up, document the call, and report it to the FTC and your state attorney general. Place a note on your credit reports with the three major credit bureaus to flag potential identity theft. Avoid sharing any information, and never send money to unknown parties. If the harassment continues, consider filing a police report and asking your phone carrier to block the source.
