Unclaimed reward scams – what to watch for
Summary — +27110711762
Expert Opinion
Definitely avoid giving out any personal info or financial details when someone claims you have unclaimed rewards. Calls from +27110711762 repeatedly mention a “Martin Duwe” offering ABSA or Ucount points and request card expiry dates or payments, which matches classic financial scam tactics. Hang up immediately, block the number, and verify any reward offers directly through your bank’s official channels. Never send money or authorize transfers to unknown entities. Keep a log of suspicious calls and report them to your local consumer protection agency or the bank’s fraud department. Staying skeptical protects your accounts and saves you hassle.

Today around 12:26, someone named Martin Duwe called with reference BR3918MG, claiming unclaimed rewards of R1844.33 from my ABSA card that need refunding. He asked for the card's expiry date, but I didn't have it handy. He said he'd ring back tomorrow. I grew wary afterward, checked, and blocked the number entirely.
