The lack of a message on the answerphone from this caller raises suspicions about the intent behind the call.
A suspicious automated call claiming to be from Visa security alerted me to purported transactions - £### for an Amazon purchase and £1,### for a Western Union transfer - and instructed me to 'Press 1' to report these transactions, bearing all the hallmarks of a scam. It's alarming that such calls are allowed, especially given that 00349 is not a valid area code, and I believe my phone provider, BT, should be held accountable for permitting these calls to go through.
