Fraudulent call impersonating Vodafone. After contacting Vodafone, they confirmed three failed login attempts to my account. Those saying it’s fine are likely the scammers themselves. Stay alert!
Carphone Warehouse scam calls – how to spot the fake upgrade
Summary — +441164890013
Expert Opinion
If you get a call from +441164890013 claiming to be Carphone Warehouse or Currys offering a Vodafone upgrade, treat it with suspicion. These numbers are frequently used by scam operators who try to harvest personal data and even bank details. Hang up immediately, block the number, and verify any offer by calling the retailer’s official customer‑service line yourself. Never give out your date of birth, address or payment info to an unsolicited caller. Report the incident to the FCA’s consumer helpline and consider flagging the number on your phone’s spam‑filter. Staying vigilant and double‑checking through official channels is the best defence.

I verified the legitimacy of the call with Currys customer service, who confirmed that the upgrade offer from Carphone Warehouse was genuine
They alleged to be Vodafone, citing data protection, yet attempted to prove it by revealing personal information.
After reading the warnings and ratings on this platform, I was skeptical about the call from Curry's Carphone Warehouse, so I contacted them directly to confirm its legitimacy.
I got a scam call pretending to be from HMRC, and I didn't engage with the caller.
A few calls came in, and out of curiosity, I returned the call. It turned out to be Currys concerning a Vodafone upgrade. The number was genuine since I now have a new phone from them.
The scammer, a rude male, became annoyed when I asked for his supervisor and continued calling after I hung up, refusing to accept my rejection
SCAM!!
This number is not affiliated with Carphone Warehouse, as confirmed by the company itself after I received multiple calls from different numbers claiming to offer free upgrades
Carphone Warehouse/Currys. When I told them they had the wrong number, they called me a liar.
After declining to answer, I searched for information about the number on Who Called Me.
Definately not a scam, I was renewing my Vodafone contract through Carphone warehouse and everythings went smoothly
They said they were from Currys and that my Vodafone contract was ending today. They offered to find me a better deal. I told them I never got my contract through Currys, and he said thank you, I’ll update our computer details, and then he hung up. If he was legit, why didn’t he find me a better deal? SCAM
No one answers; likely scammers.
Claimed to be Carphone Warehouse, got pushy when I said I'd verify. Insisted the call was legit and wanted me to call back. Unfortunately, I shared my DOB before realizing it was a scam. The caller said her name was Vanessa.
Beware of Carphone warehouse scams.
This is a clear case of deception.
It appeares to be a scam, be cautious!
