Amazon impersonation scam – should you answer?

Annoying pests...nobody was there.

Upon answering, there was no response, leading to the number being blocked

The caller seemed to be mocking and claimed to be inquiring about my computer. His diction was terrible, making it hard to understand him, so I gave up. Not even slightly credible.

A tactic of answering as a large corporation and attempting to sell them something has proven effective in stopping these calls.

Claiming to be from Microsoft to update drivers, their English was very poor. They knew our name. I told them to go forth#### since we have caller ID now, we ignore them; these people call twice a day, once at lunch and again in the evening.

The constant calls from this number have been relentless, with at least two calls daily for the past fortnight, and I firmly believe the government should take action to trace and prevent such harassing calls, especially given my recent experience with bank account hacking

Repeated calls from this number have been made over the past few weeks, and I have consistently refused to answer, given my policy of not engaging with unknown numbers. Today, they left a voicemail claiming to represent a credit card company, warning of severe consequences if I continue to disregard their attempts at contact.

Daily calls from an Asian person at this number have become increasingly frustrating, as they often divert the conversation to unrelated topics or hang up when asked about their intentions, leaving me wondering if there's any recourse to address this issue.

The caller rings my phone every day, 3 to 5 times. Today, 20/9/14, they called at 6am on a Saturday. I won't be answering the phone anymore.

Daily, I'm bombarded with two or three calls from fraudsters. Sometimes, silence greets me upon answering; other times, a man with an Indian or Pakistani accent and an English name spouts nonsense and disconnects when questioned. My number has always been ex-directory, and I'm registered with the Telephone Preference Service, which seems utterly ineffective. Suggestions are welcome.

When i picked up the phone, a lady with a indian accent asked for me by name, i confirmed and she said she was from internet security, i just said goodbye and put the phone down.

Someone claiming to be from Perfect preferances rang me from 01234567890, addressed me by name, then hung up when I questioned their intentions; my phone indicates this number is also international.
