Answered but no one spoke—probably some kind of fraud.
Unexpected Debt Demand – Scam?
Summary — +441245820824
Expert Opinion
In the quiet of a typical afternoon in Lancashire, reports flood in about persistent calls from this number, all circling a supposed TV protection plan that's anything but legitimate. Callers push claims of expired free cover, demanding payments or hefty cancellation fees, often knowing basic details like names and addresses to seem credible. This is classic scam behaviour, designed to pressure victims into parting with cash. Multiple accounts highlight aggressive tactics: repeated ringing, incorrect personal info, and dodgy accents that raise red flags. No real company like Homeserve would operate this way—legit insurers don't cold-call for payments or refuse proof. Block the number immediately and report it to Action Fraud. If they've got your details, monitor bank statements closely and consider changing any shared info. Stay vigilant; hanging up is always the safest move against such harassment.

Bloke rang about my home care account. When I wouldn't give my name, he promised to ring back later.
A lively, quick-speaking lady rang to inform me of a debt from two years back that needed settling. Unfamiliar with them. Avoid getting tricked. It's a con.
Total scam—they couldn't even pronounce my name right, so I hung up.
Avoid this – it's a scam involving appliance care.
Brought up Homeserve, my boiler coverage, then shifted to TV insurance—foreign woman with unclear speech. My partially hearing-impaired wife passed the phone; I ended it. Ex-directory, so someone sold my details.
WARNING: SCAM
Accent from Asia, he says my name is Frank... hilarious, then claims I'm 9 stone and size 10... not likely!! Wanted to discuss my homecare account related to TV... pure scam, never had one, told him nonsense. Worst part: he bypassed my call blocker and said his name. Stay alert!!
About half an hour back, this bloke rang up. Refused to answer any queries. Each time I put the phone down, he'd ring straight back. (Called roughly 7 times total) He quit only after overhearing us chatting with the bank. Claimed we'd purchased a telly last year, which we hadn't, and we never sign up for insurance, let alone over the phone. Bloody stressful stuff.
Keeps ringing despite repeated harassment over a TV protection plan. Claimed two years free, three paid, and my free period ended. To cancel, they demanded £20 admin fee. Without paying, I'd owe the full three years upfront. They had my address, name, and mentioned multiple emails – none received. Wouldn't share or send proof of the email. Now blocked.
The person asserted I'd bought insurance for a TV two years back with two years of gratis protection, and now I owe payments.
Claimed to be from homecare regarding my TV warranty. My set is around 8 years old, and I never buy such policies. She was bold enough to bypass call protect.
