How to stop BT/Openreach spoof calls

Expert Opinion
Imagine picking up a call that greets you with silence before an Asian‑accented voice claims your broadband is about to be cut. Most of the reports describe a tech‑support scam that masquerades as BT or Openreach, often hanging up after a few seconds or delivering a pre‑recorded warning about internet disconnection. These calls frequently use silent or international caller‑ID labels to obscure the source. If you receive such a call, do not share personal details, hang up promptly and report the number to your phone provider’s spam‑blocking service. Regularly updating your caller‑ID filter and blocking the number can reduce future disturbances.
