I got a call on my second SIM, used only for data in the Brentwood area, ignored it and later discovered my number had likely been sold.
Scam Posing as Telecom?
Summary — +441277509085
Expert Opinion
Calls from this number often catch people off-guard, especially when they ring secondary lines or leave odd voicemails like a simple 'Goodbye'. Reports point to scammers posing as telecom firms such as 3, or pushing fake appliances insurance and digital services. The automated greetings that flip the script—thanking you for calling them—are a classic scam tactic to hook you in. Ignore these entirely; block the number on your phone and report it to your provider or Action Fraud. If tempted to engage, hang up straight away—wasting their time might feel good but risks personal info leaks. Stay vigilant with unknown callers.

This appears to be a digital company.
A voicemail played a digital voice note that simply said “Goodbye”.
When I picked up, an automated greeting said, "Thank you for calling, an agent will be with you shortly," so I hung up immediately.
Fraudsters pretended to be from "3" and asked why they were calling from a private line; the Indian caller claimed it was his personal number. When I asked who he was speaking to, he cut the call. If you have a moment, keep these jokers on the line as long as you can – it stops them targeting someone else. Otherwise, just hang up.
It was an appliances insurance scam.
