They keep ringing, saying my debit card has been used and I need to press a number, it's a nuisance, they call twice a day, I just hang up
Scam calls about arthritis – how to protect yourself
Summary — +441293208293
Expert Opinion
Oddly enough, the pattern of calls from +441293208293 shows a consistent focus on arthritis, back pain and a so‑called “Niagara therapy” pitch, often delivered by an automated or accented voice. Callers claim you filled out a questionnaire you never recall, then pressure you to press keypad options to “verify” suspicious card activity. This is a classic scam that blends telemarketing tactics with false medical urgency, designed to harvest personal or payment details. If you receive such a call, let it ring out, avoid any keypad entry, and add the number to your block list. Report the incident to the Telephone Preference Service and, where fraud is suspected, to Action Fraud.

This individual attempts to extract information by discussing topics like back pain and medicine, and seems to be trying to obtain our mobile details, which appears to be a fraudulent activity.
From the diverse comments, it seems to be a call centre. Allegedly, I completed a survey stating I have back pain or arthritis. They’ve scheduled someone to demonstrate Niagara therapy tomorrow. I don’t recall ever mentioning such issues. At least the caller had an English accent and was comprehensible.
This number is unfamiliar to me but appears to be an HMRC scam, so I blocked it.
