Expert Opinion
The caller from 01482456261 is working on behalf of Co-op Energy to arrange the installation of smart meters. The calls are legitimate, but the audio quality of the recorded messages is notoriously poor, making them almost indecipherable. Many users are frustrated by the frequency of the calls and the lack of a clear, understandable message. Some are also sceptical about the benefits of smart meters, citing concerns about privacy, health risks, and the cost implications. If you're receiving these calls, it’s advisable to contact Co-op Energy directly for clarification. If you’re not interested in a smart meter, simply decline the offer. Ensure you verify the caller’s identity before providing any personal information to avoid potential scams.

The number has phoned me numerous times. Today, I had a conversation with the caller. They didn't bother to ask if I wanted a smart meter, just stated they were setting up a fitting call. (Giving the impression I had no say in the matter) I made it clear I didn’t want one. They questioned if there was any particular reason, to which I replied by asking if I needed to justify my decision. The conversation ended shortly after that.
Following numerous calls from this number, I finally spoke with the caller, who attempted to arrange a smart meter installation without inquiring about my preferences.
Over the past 5 days, excluding the weekend, i've recieved missed calls from this number, yesterday i ansered and asked who it was, they promptly hung up on me! If they are affliated with Coop, surely they would have left a mesage or identifed themselves? I've now blocked the number.
smart meter installation
This call was made on behalf of Co-op Energy, who had previously emailed about the matter, although the audio quality was poor and the discussion about smart meters was largely inaccurate
The characteristics of this call suggest the use of a predictive dialler, as the line goes dead upon answering, likely due to a lack of available operators. Given the information available, I suspect this may be related to smart meters, a service I do not wish to use. The fact that the line goes dead makes this a nuisance. I intend to lodge a complaint with the Co-op.
Apparently, National Grid is trying to contact me regarding a smart meter, but I havent recieved any conformation from my energy supplier, and they've been calling constantly, leaving multiple voice messages, which is becomeing annoying.

As someone with 30 years of experience in the energy industry, I strongly believe that smart meters are not beneficial to one's health and are not free, despite claims made by companies
From what I've gathered on this site, it appears to be my energy company trying to arrange a smart meter instalation, which I've declined, and I must say, the recored message they left was compleatly indecipherable, which is unprofesional.
Reject SMART METERS. Conduct your own investigation; they are hazardous and lead to numerous issues.
A garbled message came through that made no sense at all.
The continuous, indecipherable message prompted me to research online, as my husband was growing increasingly agitated; I intend to file a complaint with Co-op Energy.
