Posing as MBNA, claims someone’s attempting to slap hundreds of quid on my account and drops this phony number for “MBNA security”. Dead giveaway scam since they text from a mobile, which MBNA never does.
Received SMS: MBNA Credit: OTP 637284 for HARRODS.co.uk. SUM: £699.99 Unfamiliar with this transaction attempt now? Contact fraud team at 01584700569. Verified via my credit card application—nothing suspicious happened. Obviously fraudulent. Avoid calling that line. If concerned, reach your bank or card issuer using numbers on the card's reverse or official site!
