this is a broadband scam, ive blocked the number now.

Apparently O2 is being impersonated by these callers, who attempt to gain access to accounts - I have notified O2 about this incident

Its definately a scam.

To combat scam attempts, it is essential to report all incidents to the authorities; this can be done through the police's reporting system, which also accepts emails and screenshots of suspicious messages

Note that reports to 7726 simply activate an algorithm that labels the number as 'spam' on mobile devices. I recommend contacting your MP to address this issue. Questions to raise include why the police have discontinued the system for reporting threats and robbery attempts. Previously, there was a form on the Action Fraud phishing reporting database for such purposes. Also, inquire why the telecom industry isn't taking stronger measures to block fake and spoofed computer-generated UK landline and mobile numbers while ensuring genuine business numbers aren't mistakenly flagged as scam or blocked via the 7726 reporting system.

A scammer claiming to represent O2 offered a discount, but when confronted, they hung up, clearly not a genuine caller from Manchester.

An Asian-sounding man called, claiming to be from my internet provider. I hung up, as it felt like a scam, so be cautious.

This number should be blocked as it is used by scammers

A foreign gentleman with an English name pretending to be from O2 called me 'mam'.

I was informed that my broadband and O2 were working together and I would recieve a 40% discount, however when I searched the number on this site it seemed fishy, I asked the person on the phone if I was being scammed and they hung up on me, the asian guy on the phone transfered me to an english chap who also hung up on me, definatly a scam.

Didn’t answer, checked the number afterwards.
