Automated business messages
RTA’s relentless calls – how to stop the nuisance!
Summary — +441619180023
Expert Opinion
Like a relentless knock at the back door, the calls from +441619180023 keep returning with vague offers and demands to speak to the business owner. Such persistent outreach usually signals a harassment scheme rather than a legitimate service. Hang up immediately, avoid sharing any personal or company details, and add the number to your phone’s block list or a third‑party call‑blocking app. Register the number with the Telephone Preference Service and report repeat offenders to Ofcom or Trading Standards. Keep a brief log of call times and content – it helps authorities track patterns and strengthens any future complaint. Remember, you have the right to silence unwanted calls.

The experience I had with this number was baffling, to say the least. After answering, there was complete silence on the other end, which prompted me to wait and observe what would happen next. Approximately 30 seconds of silence ensued before the line went dead. Upon using the 1471 service, the number 0161 918 0023 was displayed. Curiously, when I attempted to call this number back, I was met with a message stating that the number is temporarily out of order. It appears that this number is only out of order when I try to call them back, but functional when they initiate the call. This seems like a clear case of deception, and I am left wondering about the legal implications of such practices. It is frustrating that companies can hide behind automated systems and cold-calling protocols with seeming impunity. A more effective deterrent might be to impose fines on companies for each negative review, with the fine amount increasing per letter, thus reflecting the severity of the issue. Moreover, it is ironic that to post this message, I must prove I am not a robot, which raises questions about whose interests the authorities are truly serving.
Claimed to represent the Telephone Preference Service. The delay in their speech indicated it was a call from India using a UK Manchester number. They mentioned that our caller preference was outdated and needed renewing, but I didn’t pursue further to find out what they intended to sell.
For months, I've been receiving frequent calls from these untrustworthy individuals, who claim to be debt collectors or business specialists at different times. It's essential to be cautious and not trust them, as they can be quite pushy and never accept rejection. My approach is to simply decline and end the call.
When denied access to the business owner, they mentioned returning later, but they won't succeed—I've already blocked them.
A women called me 3 times in 3 minutes, asking to speek to the business owner, I warned her to stop calling, but she ignored me, I eventualy lost my temper, feeling quite guilty afterwards.
I have received multiple calls asking if I wish to sell my business, which I believe may be a scam, potentially involving ID theft or phishing; I instructed them to cease contact.
