Expert Opinion
Never give personal or financial details to an unsolicited call. Most messages from +44 1782 401192 claim to be from a debt‑collection agency called Advantis, yet they provide no verifiable paperwork and often use automated recordings. Before engaging, ask for a written notice, check the company’s registration on the FCA register and confirm any alleged debt directly with the relevant organisation such as DVLA or your bank. Register the number on the Telephone Preference Service, use your handset’s block feature and report persistent harassment to Action Fraud. Keeping a record of call times and content helps you demonstrate a pattern if you need to involve regulators.

Warning: beware of this numbr
This company, advantis, has been contacting me repeatedly via calls, texts, and even a letter, claiming I owe British Gas money, which is entirely false; British Gas has advised me to disregard the correspondence.
The number is 01782 401192.
Following several calls from 01782 401192, I remain unclear about the caller's identity and struggle to decipher their message, a concern echoed by many others who have noted the poor audibility, with some speculating that the debt in question may originate from DVLA, prompting me to contact DVLA directly via 0300 790 6808, a number readily available on their official website https://www.gov.uk/pay-dvla-fine, or alternatively, by conducting a secure search, and upon verification, my car registration was found to be debt-free.
The caller claimed to be from the DVLA, but the authenticity is uncertain
Daily scam calls
Every day, this number call's my house phone, it's a automated message, but I cant tell what they say, it's definitly a scam
Informations from user says bad and caution
I spoke to Advantis Credit and they confirmed this is a legitamate number, they are a debt collection agency, if you owe them money, dont ignore them
Bad experience reported
Call connection failed
Advantis, a debt recovery company, has been in contact regarding a dispute with the DVLA; they appear to be understanding and fair in their approach.
Following a couple of texts from Advant regarding a debt, which I was unaware of, I chose to ignore it as the message claimed they had written to me but I hadn't received anything. A month later, I started receiving calls from a Stoke-on-Trent number, which were barely audible due to a quiet recording. Despite their persistence, I couldn't make out what they were saying. After researching, I discovered it could potentially be a scam, which is utterly frustrating.
Despite my number being registered with TPS, I continue to receive calls from this scammer, who claims we have a mutual client, which is not possible

Automated finance calls
Proceed with caution
This number has contacted me yet again, undoubtedly a scam
Unsatisfactory experience
Automated messages repeatedly left, requesting callbacks regarding credit matters.
The aim of this contact is to extract personal information, so it's advisable not to respond.
Be cautious when ansering
A recorded message stated they have sent me a letter (which is false). They requested I visit their website for further details. Their words, not mine: "Advantis are a leading UK Debt Collection Agency, specialising in Debt Collection and Credit Management. Advantis have a proven track record of assisting various businesses with solutions for their debt recovery issues." This seems like a peculiar method of soliciting business.
