Random call to my other half, claiming EE rep saying he's "a top customer due some perks, and it's my role to walk you through them". Pulled him back to listen properly. He asked if it's legit or scam, they suggested verifying the Tyneside dial code. Not convincing at all. In a flap, we ended it, figuring real ones would use better secure methods. Looked it up here and good job – confirmed scam.
Poseing as EE, they dispatched texts containing a 4-digit code for 'verification'. Naturally, I was wary from the start. When I expressed my doubts, they inquired why. I mentioned my 15-year history with EE, noting they never randomly call. They countered, 'How would I know your name?' I retorted that scammers often possess such details. Ultimately, I bid them farewell and ended the call
