The number itself is a clear indicator. Too many repetitive digits. It's a fabricated number. If they refrain from leaving a message, it clearly isn't important to me.
A man identified himself as being from BT, asking if everything was fine and if we had the correct package. When he asked why I required broadband, he then requested the first line of my address. I provided it, but it didn't match his records as we had changed the house name years ago. He mentioned his screen was freezing and that he'd call back, but there was laughter in the background, sounding like a party. I doubt this is legitimate BT.

I suggested they should contact me via their 0800 number, which I believe is legitimate. He asked to call back due to my recent broadband issues, but I declined.
