A fraudulent call pretended to be a charity or police officer, accusing me of child offences and demanding payment; I was advised to hang up and contact my bank directly.

Expert Opinion
Scammers rarely waste time on dead ends, yet this number dials persistently before dropping the line. Comments reveal a pattern of fake charity pitches, often posing as Help for Heroes to probe for military family details or escalate to bogus accusations like child offences. These tactics aim to intimidate victims into payments, but remember, genuine police or charities never demand money over the phone. Hang up immediately if you spot such calls—don't engage or share info. Block the number and report to Action Fraud for tracking. If threatened, contact your bank directly to secure accounts. Staying vigilant nips these nuisances in the bud.
