Suspicion arose when a text message claiming to be from Barclaycard requested a call to this number regarding a suspicious payment, but upon calling, it was answered immediately, prompting a call to Barclaycard to verify the authenticity, which they denied.

A text message instructed me to call back regarding a nationwide account, stating that money was being withdrawn. This occurred the day after I opened a nationwide account.

Seems to be a banking scam, claiming to be from Barclays Bank, stating that a payment was declinded, fortunatly i am aware of these types of scams, an older person might not be so luckey

A message allegedly from Barclays informed me of a new payee, Arang Saar, added to my account for £864.34. The message instructed me to call 020 3289 7678 if I didn't recognise the transaction. I chose not to answer and instead checked my account online, hoping the Fraud Squad will soon apprehend those responsible.

This could easily worry people who do bank with Barclays and lead them to call the number. It's particularly dangerous for elderly or vulnerable individuals. It's infuriating.
