A call centre phoned about our charity's utility bill reminder, even though we pay by direct debit and never receive such notices. They then shifted the story, claiming the reminder concerned a contract renewal, which we had already completed three weeks prior and we never deal with brokers. Their tone grew hostile, so I hung up and they kept dialing every few minutes. I've now blocked the number. Several volunteers have reported similar calls for about a year, and the callers seem to know some of our details. Stay alert – these are scammers.

A woman with an Asian accent phoned, claiming to have a cheaper energy tariff for a club I manage and demanding the meter number. She couldn't specify the premises or the correct club name, clearly trying to phish. Even after I pointed out the club didn't exist, she persisted, so I ended the call and blocked the number.

This turned out to be a fraud where they pretended to offer cheaper gas and electricity rates for a charity, got the provider wrong, kept asking for the meter serial, then the postcode—hung up and blocked the number.

The caller said they were contacting us about our charity’s energy usage and offered to lower our bills, but gave no details of who they represented – not trustworthy.

Another call claimed my utilities contract was being switched to a cheaper deal later this year, which isn’t true. Acting for a church, I noticed this scam targeting charities; today I’ve received three such calls from different Asian‑sounding women, each knowing my name and email, using numbers 07418626289 and 01235619423, all urging the same message.

A caller, presenting an Asian accent, claimed to be Emily and asked for the treasurer of my village hall. After blocking the number, the same script resurfaced days later from a different line.

It appears they're not after sales at all – they're after theft!

They claimed the call was about our church's energy supply contract ending this month – nonsense, as the contract isn’t due for another 18 months.

The UK Business network keep calling our church at all hours of the day, it's constant, I told them I would report them and I have, they are a compleate nuisance.

I recieved a call at 8:10am today from a man with a strong Indian accent, who introducted himself as Mike. He addressed me by my name and mentioned a charity I'm a trustee for. He claimed our electricity contract was up for renewal. However, the charity doesn't have premisies or an electricity contract. I informed him he was a crook, and he apoligised before hanging up. I didn't confirm my name or the charity's name. I checked the number via 1471 and got 0203 761 7069, but didn't call back. I'm concered scammers are accessing charity details from the Charity Commission website. Can this be prevented to avoid financial loss and nuisence?

The person who called claim to be from Utilities Business, and when ask, he say his name is Tony Smith, but i found it suspicious.
